Set up parent-child menu categories

I. Purpose

This feature allows restaurants to organize menu categories in a hierarchical structure (parent–child).

II. Instruction Steps

1. On the dashboard

Go to Menu and open the Categories tab.

a. Create a new parent category

1. Click Add category.
2. Enter the category name.
3. In Category type, select Parent group.
4. Click Save to create the parent category.

b. Update an existing category

Convert a category to a Parent category

1. Click the Edit icon on the category.
2. In Category type, select Parent group.
3. Click Save.

Assign a category under a Parent category

1. Click the Edit icon on the category.
2. In Under category, select the desired parent category.
3. Click Save.

This is how categories look.

2. On PC/POS

Go to Menu.

On Menu category tab, click Add category. If it is a parent category, check Parent category. Then, click Save.

If the old category is a child one and you want to change it to a parent category, check Parent category. Click Save.

This message will appear. If you want to proceed, click OK.

If it is a child category, select a parent category in Under category.
