Set up automatic application of promotions based on the selected time frame

I. Purpose

The restaurant manager can set up the automatic application of promotion programs based on selected time frames.

II. Instruction steps

1. Set up a promotion program

1. On the Dashboard, go to Promotion.
2. Click the arrow icon next to Add promotion.
3. Select Discount by item.

In the Promotion tab, enter the required information for the promotion.

Regarding General information,

• Promotion name: Enter a unique name for your promotion.
• Promo code: Enter a specific code that customers can use to redeem the discount.
• Date Range: Select the Start date and End date for the promotion.
• Time & Day Scheduling:
  • Apply by time: If enabled, you can set a specific Start time and End time (e.g., 07:00 AM to 10:30 AM).
  • Apply on days: If enabled, you can select specific days of the week (Mon, Tue, Wed…) for the promotion to be active.

Regarding Discount configuration,

• Discount by: Choose whether the discount is calculated as a Percentage (%) or a fixed amount.
• Value: Enter the discount value (e.g., 5 for a 10% discount or $5 for a $5 discount).
• Apply for: Select the scope of the discount from the dropdown menu:
  • Items: Apply the discount to specific, individually selected items.
  • Item categories: Apply the discount to an entire category of products (e.g., all “Drinks” or all “Appetizers”).
  • All items: Apply the discount to every item available in your menu.

For example, apply the discount to specific categories.

If you select Item categories under the Apply for field, follow these steps to choose your categories:

1. Click the Approve button to add the selected categories to your discount list.
2. Check applicable categories and click Accept to confirm your selection.

Note: You can remove a category from the list at any time by clicking the Trash icon next to its name.

Note:

• The manager can set up automatic application of promotion programs based on selected time frames for the following types of programs: Free item, Discount by item, and Discount by bill.
• If the promotion program has additional conditions, it cannot be automatically applied based on the time frame.

2. Apply the promotion on POS

When processing payment, the system will automatically apply the promotion program according to the pre-set time frame.
