MISA CukCuk defaults rounding upon cash payment. Here are the rounding rules:
1. Rounding Principle:
- Step 1: Identify the second decimal place (the cent value: 0.0x).
- Step 2: Round based on the value of this digit:
- If x ∈ {0, 1, 2} → round down to 0.00
- If x ∈ {3, 4, 5, 6, 7} → round to 0.05
- If x ∈ {8, 9} → round up to 0.10
2. Display & Calculation:
- The Cash rounding field is displayed on the payment screen:
- If rounded down, the rounding value is shown as a negative number.
- If rounded up, the rounding value is shown as a positive number.
- This field is only visible when an amount requires rounding.
- Final total formula:
Total rounded = Total (including tip if any) + Rounding
Note: These rules only apply to cash payment.
3. Examples
a. Pay full amount
In this case, cash rounding is 0.02. It means that cash payment is rounded up.
b. Split bills
This bill is split into 3 covers. If the previous cover required cash rounding, that rounded amount will be allocated to the remaining covers. The allocated amount is recorded under Rounding adjustment.
Cash rounding of the first cover is -$0.01.
Rounding adjustment of the second cover is $0.01 and cash rounding is -$0.02.
Rounding adjustment of the third cover is $0.02 and cash rounding is -$0.02.
The restaurant can check rounding at Sales overview.
