I. Purpose
Help chain restaurant managers copy one or more items from one location to other locations directly on the management site, without exporting and importing the menu.
This feature allows managers to copy item information, selling prices, attributes, modifiers, and combo structures to multiple locations at once, saving time when setting up or expanding menus across locations.
II. Instruction Steps
1. Open the Copy Items feature
- On the management site, select the source location containing the items you want to copy.
- Open Menu.
- Select one or more items.
- Click this icon
→ Select Copy to another location.

Notes:
- This feature is available only for restaurant chains with multiple locations.
- It appears only when a specific location is selected, not under All locations.
- Users must have Edit item permission at the source location and Add item permission at least one destination location.
2. Select destination locations
On the Copy to another location screen:
- Enter a location name in the search box or check the applicable location.
- Click Done to copy the items.

The list displays only locations that:
- The user has Add item permission to access.
- Are active.
- Have valid licenses.
Note: The source location does not appear in the destination location list.
3. Review the copied information
After copying, the items are added to the menus of the selected locations.
3.1. Information that is copied
The system copies the following information:
- Item information: Item name, short name, description, and image.
- Selling price: The item’s selling price. For combos, the Base price is copied.
- Management information: Unit of measurement, menu category, barcode, and PLU.
- Sales channels: Availability on POS/Online ordering, QR ordering, and Kiosk.
- Online price: The online selling price.
- Modifiers: Modifier categories and all modifiers within each category.
- Variants: Attributes and the selling price of each variant.
- Combos: Combo structure, component items, and combo surcharges.
- Unit of measurement: If it does not exist at the destination location, the system automatically adds it.
- Menu category: If it does not exist, the system automatically adds it, including its name and color. For categories with a parent-child structure, both the parent and child categories are copied.
- Modifier category: The system creates a new category and copies all modifiers within it, even if a category with the same name already exists at the destination location.
- Combo component items: If they do not exist at the destination location, the system copies them along with the combo.
Duplicate checks for units of measurement and menu categories are case-insensitive.
3.3. Information that is not copied
The following fields use the default values at the destination location:
- Tax rate.
- Processed at.
- Menu book.
- EBT eligible.
- Sales channels other than those listed above.
- Adjust price.
- Inventory settings.
Notes:
- The tax rate follows the destination location’s default tax. If no default tax is configured, the field is left blank.
- If barcode-based item management is not enabled at the destination location, the barcode is still copied but does not appear on the item form.
4. Review the copy results
4.1. All items are copied successfully
The system displays:
“Copy x items successfully!”
Here, x is the number of items copied successfully.
Open the menu at the destination location to review the newly added items.
4.2. An item cannot be copied due to duplicate information
If an item has a duplicate name, PLU, or barcode at a destination location, the system displays a Cannot copy warning showing the duplicate information and the affected locations.
Common cases include:
- Duplicate item name: The item name already exists.
- Duplicate PLU: The PLU code already exists.
- Duplicate barcode: The barcode already exists.
Click OK to continue copying the item to eligible locations. The item is not copied to the locations listed in the warning.
4.3. Multiple Items Cannot Be Copied
The system displays the Copy to another location results screen, including:
- The number of items copied successfully.
- The number of items that failed to copy.
- Review the copy results here, which allows you to download detailed results.
Click here to download the copy results as an Excel file.

The file includes:
- Location: The location where the error occurred.
- Result: The result or reason the item could not be copied.
Common errors include:
- Item name already existed: Duplicate item name.
- PLU already existed: Duplicate PLU.
- Barcode already existed: Duplicate barcode.
- A combo contains a fixed component item whose name already exists at the destination location.
Review the duplicate information, make adjustments if needed, and retry copying the unsuccessful items.
Note: Items added through this feature are recorded in the Access log under the Add item action.
